Stone-coated metal tiles have excellent characteristics for installation on sloped roofs. They are lightweight, the tiles interlock tightly, are not easily blown away by wind, and offer secure installation. So, what are some points to note during the installation of stone-coated metal tiles?
I. Installation and Construction of Sloped Roof Formwork
During the construction of a concrete sloped roof, first, according to the construction drawings and design requirements, the gable and partition walls are built into a sloped shape. Additionally, lay out the full-size drawing on the ground according to the sloped roof dimensions. Then, construct a triangular frame using wood based on the full-size drawing. This triangular frame serves as a support for the sloped roof formwork. However, during the construction of the triangular frame, diagonal and straight supports must be added to ensure its strength. When installing the formwork, wooden triangular frames must be installed to support the formwork in areas without partition walls and rooms with larger spans. The installation spacing of the triangular frames should be determined by the length modulus of the formwork. When laying the formwork, follow the specifications, correct the elevation, lay it flat and compact, do not allow warping, and ensure the formwork joint gaps meet the specification requirements.
II Insulation Layer and Protective Layer Construction
The insulation layer for the sloped roof should use insulation materials as per the design requirements. If using polystyrene boards, select products with good flatness and qualified physicochemical indicators from reputable brands. During laying, ensure they are laid flat and stable. Fill the joints tightly with the same material. Apply a layer of cement mortar protective layer on top of the insulation layer, with a thickness of no less than 20mm The surface of the protective layer should be pressed smooth, requiring flatness without any sanding, peeling, honeycomb, etc., and no impurities. The cement mortar surface should have evenly spaced joints, with a joint area of one square meter. The width of the joints should not be less than 20mm After the protective layer is dry, the next step of waterproof membrane construction can be carried out.
III Adhesion of Sloped Roof Tiles
Metal Tiles Upon arrival, inspect the factory qualification certificate, appearance quality, and inspection report. Only qualified tiles can be used. Align with the pre-embedded bolts in the sloped roof concrete. Tighten the nuts to prevent the tiles from being blown away by strong winds. The overlapping width of the ridge tiles on the tiles of the two slopes should not be less than 40mm。 Stone-coated Metal Tiles Must be firmly adhered, flat, neatly arranged, tightly overlapped, with straight eaves, and consistent color.
IV Finishing
After the sloped roof tiles are adhered, clean the surface. Metal Clean any residual materials on the tile surface. After the entire roof project is completed, conduct a water leakage test for 2 hours to ensure no leakage.
