Installing prefabricated gutters is a very tedious task, and minor negligence can lead to construction difficulties. Some customers have reported that when the roof batten is too high, problems may occur during eave gutter installation, affecting the external appearance of the gutter in the following ways:
Impact 1: When the roof batten is too high and the distance between it and the prefabricated eave gutter is greater than 5 cm, excessive rainwater accumulation on the roof can prevent rainwater from flowing into the eave gutter, causing it to flow down the tiles directly, rendering the eave gutter ineffective for drainage.

Impact 2: When the roof batten is too high, the large distance between the roof tiles and the eave gutter can cause rainwater backflow due to wind during rain, leading to water stains on the eaves and walls.
Impact 3: A high roof batten results in a large gap between the roof tiles and the roof structure. If the size of the prefabricated drainage gutter is too small to cover the gap in the roof batten, it will look unsightly and create a sense of emptiness.
Solutions for installing eave gutters when the roof batten is too high:
Method 1: Before roof tile installation, communicate with the construction personnel and the client and designer to lower the roof batten, ensuring a distance of 3-5 cm between the eave gutter and the roof tiles.
Method 2: If the roof work has already been completed, to ensure the prefabricated eave gutter functions effectively for drainage, add square steel purlins to the eave and raise the gutter by 5-7 cm. The bottom of the gutter will be installed by a third-party contractor.
As a manufacturer of prefabricated gutters, we recommend the following method.
Recommended Method: For installation issues related to high eaves battens, first, the 230 or 300 decorative eave gutters have an opening size of 23-30 cm to effectively receive rainwater from the roof, solving problems such as roof drainage and water stains on walls and eaves. Custom flashings effectively solve the problem of large gaps between the roof tiles and the roof structure, which creates an unsightly hollow appearance, and also solves the problem of rainwater backflow causing water stains on the eaves and walls.
